     The PTSCA
was established in 1984 to promote the sister city relationship
between Pleasanton, California and Tulancingo, Hidalgo, Mexico.
     The purpose
of the program is to develop friends and meaningful exchanges;
exchanges that involve citizens in both cities to engage in
continuing projects of mutual interest. It is a dedication of
friendship and understanding between peoples of different cultures
and different attitudes.
     To those
engaged in the program it is even more. It is a discovery, it
is an adventure, it is a new dimension of self-awareness and
awareness of others, and it is fun.
     The PTSCA
has organized various exchange programs and projects with the
Comite de Ciudades Hermanas Tulancingo-Pleasanton (the Tulancingo-Pleasanton
Sister City Committee) such as the high school students exchange
program, sister city memorial events, and cultural exchange
programs.was
     These
programs range through cultural, athletic, student, professional,
industrial and commercial exchanges of every form -- all arranged
directly by those engaged in the individual program.
