  • 2023 is the 38th year of the PTSCA Student Exchange Program.

  • Over 150 PTSCA Exchange Students have traveled to Tulancingo

  • We hold a farewell picnic the day before our exchange students leave in July.  This is one opportunity for Association members to meet the students.

  • The Pleasanton Rotary has provided Mexican and American Ambassadors with tickets to the Alameda County Fair for over ten years

  • The Student Exchange was started by Señor Bob Athenour, just two years after the PTSCA was formed. Señor Bob taught Spanish at Amador Valley High School for twenty-five years and is still a regular visitor to Student Exchange events

Summer Activities in Mexico during Recent Programs**

Visit the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon at Teotihuacan • See Mariachis in the Town Square • Shopping in Real del MonteTour City Hall and meet Tulancingo's President (Mayor) • Visit one of the Mexican resorts for a weekend • Visit Pachuca • Visit restaurant with guajalotes • Become a new family member • Attend class in one of the Tulancingo high schools for a few days • Professional Soccer Game or tour National Soccer Museum • Tour Mexico City and see the National Anthropological Museum • City Night Bike Ride • Ziplining

** These are examples of past activities.  The Sister City organizations, in both Pleasanton and Tulancingo, cover all expenses for program-coordinated activities (examples in green).  All other activities are coordinated by the families.  Not every family participates in every activity based on vacations, special situations, and preferences. We do ask families to car-pool and chaperone.
