We are thrilled to announce that the 2024 PTSCA Student Exchange will be offered this summer! 
 
We are confident that we can offer a safe, fun, and rich cultural experience to all of our students and host families. It is recommended that students be up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccines in order to participate in the program. This is in keeping with the U.S. State Department guidelines. To be considered for the Student Exchange, please complete the application forms linked below.

This page will be routinely updated to provide the latest schedules, applications forms, and information.  Dates are tentative and based on the current school schedules of high schools in Tulancingo and the Tri-Valley.

Requirements:

- 1-year of high school Spanish or equivalent

- Resident of the Tri-Valley

 

2024  Important Student Exchange Dates: 

  • Parent/student Information Sessions online and in-person. Need only attend one session.
  • March 4: Ice Cream Social, 7:00-8:00. Informal, meet with other youth interested in program, mock-interview takes place.  Location TBD.  RSVP Jorge at: javictoria45@gmail.com
  • March 15: Application & teacher reference due at: PTSCA Student Exchange, P.O. Box 5283, Pleasanton, CA 94566.
  • March 17: 20-minute formal interview scheduled on the half-hour between 2-6pm.  Location TBD.
  • March 18 or 19: Home visit scheduled
  • March 20: Youth ambassadors announced
  • April 11: “Let Me Introduce Myself” packet is due
  • April 15: 7:30-8:30 First Orientation for students/parents 
  • April 25-27: Airline tickets purchased
  • May 5: PTSCA - Cinco de Mayo Fiesta. Skype with your Tulancingo family.
  • June 9: Tulancingo youth arrive SFO/OAK. Families welcome their new student at airport.
  • June 30: Tulancingo and Pleasanton youth depart to Tulancingo.
  • July 21: Pleasanton youth return. 
  • September 14:  PTSCA Annual BBQ Fundraiser at Pleasanton Senior Center. Students introduced and brief report on exchange.
  • December 7:  Pleasanton Hometown Holiday Parade participation.
  • December 15:  Community Posada at Veteran's Hall, Pleasanton Students are MC’s for the event.
